Hi Everyone!

I would like to welcome you to my eighth grade science classroom. I am excited that you have taken a moment to visit my website. I have been in AISD for twenty years, and this is my sixth year at Clack Middle School. I teach two different sections of Science. the majority of the students in eighth grade take Science II which is a continuation from sixth and seventh grade. Other students take Pre AP-IPC which is a ninth grade level course. For more information about a course, click on the link above that corresponds with your childs class. I really feel fortunate to be teaching your children. Eighth grade is exciting because it affords young people the opportunities to reinforce, extend, and apply what they learn in science with fun and meaningful investigations and activities.

We are fortunate at Clack Middle School to have the resources and technology to enable us to stretch our students capabilities and potential. It is my goal to create a classroom environment that will help prepare your child for success in high school. In addition to teaching the required curriculum, I strive to teach my students to be inquisitive, imaginative, and to believe in themselves. As a parent or guardian, I know you are interested in the kinds of experiments we do. I display pictures of current lab activities every month on my website.

In eighth grade students learn many new and challenging concepts. There is a fair amount of homework and research that must be done outside of school. Therefore, I have instructed all of my students to call me in the evenings if they have trouble with their homework. They may reach me at home (668-7575) most evenings.

Teaching these young people is challenging and very rewarding. I feel privileged to have a part in shaping the lives of your children.
